I am a man. I am a husband. I am a Dad. My three sons are men. Each is a husband. All are Fathers. As such, every man faces the same three fundamental choices of primary allegiance. Said choice inexorably determines lifestyle, values, and legacy.
- live for yourself
- go with the flow
- life’s a party; indulge!
- lie; when you get caught, lie some more
- thumb your nose at God
- play by the rules as best you can
- tell the truth, if you have to
- don’t get too involved in the church thing (Christmas, maybe Easter)
- something other than God is your god (sports, trucks, work...)
- hope you get into heaven
- submit to an authority higher than yourself
- live a holy life, with help from above
- be a man of your word, based upon God’s Word
- seek to model integrity, decency, and character at home then beyond
- pray like you mean it.
Ask yourself:
- Which am I? Why?
- Which best serves my wife & family?
- Which contributes most to society?
- Which best gives meaning to life (and death)?
- Which do I want my son (or daughter) to be?
The choice, is yours.
